A man is vaccinated ten times in one day
New Zealand health authorities have opened an investigation after a man was vaccinated against COVID-19 ten times in one day.
The individual may have been paid to vaccinate on behalf of other people.
The country’s health ministry said it was taking the issue seriously. The response of the person in charge of the vaccination program, Astrid Kornev, “We are very concerned about this situation and are working with the appropriate agencies.”
No need for ID for vaccination
“An inaccurate vaccination status not only puts you at risk, but also your friends, your “whanau” (the Maori word for “extended family,” editor’s note), your community, as well as the health care teams helping you treat now and in the future.”
In New Zealand, residents do not need to show identification to receive the vaccination.
Many companies and facilities across the country use a National Vaccination Certificate that only grants access to fully vaccinated people.
About 89% of the New Zealand population is fully immunized. With a population of 5 million, the country has reported around 12,500 cases of Covid-19 and 46 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
