A delivery man steals a dog and throws it in his truck, and the animal dies of heat before his round is over.

On July 3, a FedEx delivery worker allegedly stole a miniature French bulldog from a family in North Carolina (US) and left it to die in the back of his truck.

The 44-year-old FedEx delivery worker intended to raise Tori, a French bulldog, and show the puppy he had kidnapped, New York Post Citing court documents.

The man, who knew the little dog's owners well, had already asked them to mate his dog with theirs, but the family declined the offer.

The animal died before its tour was over.

On July 3, while making a delivery run, the delivery man allegedly took the dog that was in his yard and threw it into the back of his truck.

After not finding their animal, the owners contacted the authorities, who investigated. On July 7, word got out: Agents had just found Tori dead, he said. New York Post.

Investigators believe the delivery driver kept the French bulldog in his truck while completing a FedEx delivery route and that the animal died of heat stroke or a related illness due to the high temperatures inside the vehicle.

The delivery man is gone

The delivery man turned himself in to authorities on Monday, July 22. He was charged with theft, possession of stolen property and animal cruelty, and was held on $50,000 bail, according to the sheriff's office.

FedEx sent its deepest condolences to Tori's owners, noting that the delivery man no longer works for their company: “We send our deepest condolences to the family on the loss of their beloved pet.”The company said in a statement to ABC11.

“We understand the importance of pets in their lives and are deeply sorry for the pain this has caused. The driver is no longer providing service on behalf of FedEx.”.
