The architect designed this black and geometric house of 158 square meters Anna Marie ChenIn collaboration with its owner, Tom. Tom’s house won the “Small Home of the Year Award 2016” (not so small…). It is a home with unique lines, nestled in the middle of New Zealand nature, with incredible views in an environment of raw beauty. An asymmetrical gable running diagonally at one end matches the backdrop formed by the Remarkables mountain range to the east.
With its glazed design towards the landscape, it provides an immersive experience and invites residents to enjoy the outdoors whatever the season. Its interior is made of natural materials and light tones, which contrast with the black used in its facade. It is a home that asserts its very contemporary character and matches its environment without clashing with it.
