New supercar circuit abroad in 2024

The 2024 Australian Supercars program is making noise, but not in a positive way. According to the numerous reactions posted by fans on social networks, the Antipodes GT Championship is sliding down a dangerous slope.

The 2024 season will actually feature just 12 meetings spread over 10 months, with two first-time visits to Bathurst (the Bathurst 500 curtain raiser at the end of February and the famous Bathurst 1000km race in October). Several tracks used to host Supercars have been overlooked, such as Philip Island, Winton and Queensland Raceway, while these two tracks host special testing for Ford and Chevrolet cars entered in Supercars.

However, there is a new circuit in the program. that it Taupo, in New Zealand as the third meeting (April 19-21), which is the only second-tier FIA circuit on the island. This will be the third different track Supercars has visited in New Zealand, after Pukekohe and Hamilton. Previously run disciplines at Taupo include the A1GP in 2007 and 2008.

On the other hand, the Bend Circuit will temporarily disappear from the program, before returning in 2025 in the form of an endurance meet.

β€œThe 2024 Repco Supercars Championship calendar is absolutely fantastic. Defends Wayne Bryant, president of Repco, Supercars’ main sponsor. Two major events in Bathurst are an absolute bonus.

It’s the best track we have in this part of the world, so starting the championship there is huge, and of course the Bathurst 1000 in October is a race every driver wants to win. The tournament’s return to New Zealand is also important for the sport and for fans across the country. Β»
