Rodin’s team has announced that it has been left out of the selection process for its eleventh F1 team

Rodin Cars is a well-known company in the world of single-seater cars. The New Zealand manufacturer, founded by David Dekker, produces racing cars and notably owns the Rodin Formula 2 and Formula 3 teams. Rodin is particularly sponsoring Liam Lawson, who has just entered Formula 1 in AlphaTauri.

So the manufacturer legitimately decided to participate in the call for bids for an eleventh Formula 1 team, as did Andretti, one of the most serious contenders.

However, the FIA, which will decide whether a team qualifies for a place in the Formula 1 paddock through a very strict selection process, has seen the last teams to enter Formula 1 break their teeth after just one or two seasons.

Rodin explained in a press release that their nomination “He did not succeed in what he wanted.” Without questioning the decision, they were keen to explain the reasons that prompted them to participate.

“This statement aims to provide an overview of the main points of our bids that we believe are legitimate. We would like to stress that our aim here is not to criticize the FIA or call for a reconsideration of its decision. We fully respect and accept the outcome.”

Rudin explains that this would have been the sole originator “in the southern hemisphere” They propose to establish their own Formula 1 manufacturers’ factory in New Zealand. They also planned to reserve one of their pilot positions for a pilot. Thus Jamie Chadwick was chosen by the team to ride alongside Liam Lawson in particular.

Rodin also explains that they have already built track cars specifically their latest FZero model, meaning they are fully capable of building a Formula 1 car although it was envisaged to collaborate with Ferrari in their move to Formula 1.

The last two points in Rodin’s press release relate to their experience in Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4 after purchasing the Carlin team as well as the financial contribution coming from one person, the founder.

The eleventh team was not necessarily selected

The selection process was clear. The eleventh team will have to respond to the FIA’s criteria and the points raised by the other ten Formula 1 teams, also participating in the selection process. Therefore, the invitation to bid may not result in any new Formula 1 teams. In fact, if none of the competitors can meet all the criteria, the FIA will not risk implementing a completely new chassis over time.

Rodin has not publicly announced his participation in the Formula 1 entry project. Other well-known structures are Andretti, Hitech, Formula Equal and LKY SUNZ.
