The Summer School edition was organized for the first time in Vietnam, instead of the Institute for Scientific Studies in Carges (France), where it has been held for 30 years. This decision was made thanks to the support of about two dozen brilliant scientists from around the world, including four Nobel laureates in physics. This event contributes significantly to the goal of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development 2022-2023, declared by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2021.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Professor Tran Thanh – President of the “Rencontres du Vietnam” association shared his joy: “This year is the first time that this advanced summer school has been held outside of France. We are very happy when the Organizing Committee and Professor Laurent Baulieu decided to organize this school at ICISE, in the next times (in 2025 and 2027)”.

For his part, Binh Dinh Provincial Vice President Lam Hai Giang wishes: “ Today’s classroom is not only a bridge for sharing and sharing knowledge, but also a link to help international professors, scholars and students better understand the cultural, historical, natural and human characteristics of Bien Dinh in particular and in Vietnam in general.”

Founded in 1993 by Physics Professor Jean Tran Thanh Van, it is a non-profit association and official partner of UNESCO, which aims to promote international exchanges between Vietnam and the international community, especially in the scientific and educational fields. The association also aims to encourage and integrate Vietnamese scientists into the international community and support the role of education and science by encouraging scientific awareness and stimulating a passion for science among the younger generation. The Vietnam Meetings are part of two series of scientific meetings established by physics professor Jean Tran Thanh Van: the Morion meetings in 1966 and the Blois meetings in 1989. The creation of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) aims to focus To develop two areas by promoting exchanges between scholars from Asia and the Pacific and colleagues from other parts of the world.
