Patsy Reddy becomes the first female president of the New Zealand Football Association
The New Zealand Federation elected Patsy Reddy as President, and she became the first woman in history to hold the position.

Patsy Reddy was appointed at a meeting of the Auckland, New Zealand Rugby League, founded in 1892, a statement said, and will take over from outgoing chairman Stuart Mitchell, who will step down at the end of January. Known for her long career as a tax lawyer, Patsy Reddy was appointed to the New Zealand Rugby Board of Directors last April, having been from 2016 to 2021 the country’s Governor-General, Honorary Representative of Sovereign Elizabeth II.
