Anyone Can Unlock Your Android Smartphone Without Password (Quick Update)

The Android flaw allows anyone to unlock an Android smartphone very easily. Quickly update your device.

Monitor Close Your smartphone is supposed to be the last barrier between the world and your digital life. When the phone is locked, it cannot be unlocked without the passcode, your face, or your fingerprint. If you lose it or someone steals it, you don’t have to worry about anyone doing anything with it. But, unfortunately, at the time of this writing, many have been able to do so.

As mentioned ComputerCybersecurity researcher David Schutz discovered a bug opening a Google Pixel 6 And Pixel 5 without the password. It happened after his Pixel 6 ran out of battery, and after entering the wrong PIN three times. to her SIM card Then it was locked. So enter the PUK code to reactivate it.

However, once the SIM was reactivated, the Pixel asked him to scan his fingerprint. This shouldn’t happen because Pixels (like the majority of smartphones) require entering the code to unlock after a reboot. You should not be able to use your fingerprint to unlock the smartphone before it has been successfully unlocked via code.

So David Schutz saw a legitimate vulnerability in this matter. Once this is done, he can bypass the lock screen and access the phone. You can watch the process in the video below:

David Schutz brought his discovery to attention The Google in June. It took five months for Mountain View to offer a fix, but it’s available. It’s hard to tell how long this flaw has been around, but it could have compromised tens of millions of Android devices.

If you have an Android 10, 11, 12 or 13 smartphone, you must install the November 2022 security update to fix the vulnerability. If you’ve done this before, great. If not, don’t delay!
