Max 1100 GPU for data center, Intel adopts 12VHPWR connector

New MosulThe 16-pin PCIe Gen5 power supply also known as 12VHPWR is finding its way into professional Intel graphics cards.

This 12VHPWR connector is “technically” not a requirement for an ATX 3.0 power supply. However, the next generation of ATX 3.0 power supplies, such as Dark Power 13 are quiet! It has this connector for at least one graphics card.

Nvidia is the first manufacturer to tap it with their latest GeForce RTX 40 series.

While waiting for a compatible power supply, connections go through an adapter that uses three 8-pin PCIe (RTX 4080 16 GB) or four 8-pin PCIe (RTX 4090).
