In Roscoff, the patchwork workshop at Espace Méheut is on display until November 6 – Roscoff
The Art and Culture Association of Roscoff’s patchwork workshop showcases four years of creations in the Méheut space. About a hundred very colorful quilts of all sizes are offered, as well as many textile artworks, such as pillows, bags or table decorations.
Offered four years of creation
The event, which takes place every three years, cannot take place in 2021 due to the health situation. Thus, it is the richness of the creations of four years that is presented to visitors. The “patchers” and “patchboys”, as Claude Le Roux, the boss of the workshop, calls them, have taken advantage of the last year to create about a hundred squares that have been assembled to create a wonderful mixture. It’s called Containment, and it can be won, along with many other prizes, during a grand raffle.
twenty-five members
The patchwork workshop was established in 1999 under the direction of Françoise Boullherr. In 2010, Michel Cartier accepted the challenge and continued to be active for eight years. It will organize three exhibitions, the last of which was in 2018. The workshop has 25 members and welcomes new members every year. They meet every Tuesday afternoon during classes. The workshop, every three months, offers a friendship day with a different theme. The next tree will be dedicated to the Christmas tree.
