Habit power for the blues? France is again seeking to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals. This would require Italy to be sent off in the quarter-finals on Saturday 29 October. Thomas Darracq’s players start out as candidates, having won their last three encounters with the Transalpines in the Six Nations Championship. In second place in their group, they only fell to England in a very close match (7-13). But they have to be wary of the opponent who dominated them in the preparatory match for the World Cup, on September 9 in La Pute (26-19).
The winner will face another big challenge with a potential semi-final against defending champions New Zealand (who will face Wales in the quarter-finals), which is impressive in the group stage and plays at home.
