La Rochelle loses Hastoy for a month

Bad news for Stade Rochelais who lost their opening match for about a month.

Marine coach Donacha Ryan announced, on Thursday, that Antoine Hastoy, who opened the international game in La Rochelle, who was injured on Sunday in Clermont, has a sprained left ankle, which should keep him out of action for four weeks.

The injury of Hastoy, who departed his partners in the sixth minute at the Michelin Stadium, is bad news for the yellow and black machine who were already denied the opening of Pierre Pobelin (general) and Jules Le Bell, and for the 15th of France, just over a month into the November round. Against Racing 92 on Saturday, the Maritimes will be able to count on either England’s youngster Harry Glenn, Samoan Ulubanu Soutini, or South Africa’s Dylan Leeds, who replaced former Auvergne Baloa.

In addition, international full-back Brice Doolin, also injured at Claremont, is still complaining about his right knee. “Brice is not 100% for this weekend. He had a knee alert,” Ryan said.

Finally, there is still uncertainty regarding New Zealand hemisphere Tawera Kerr-Barlow, who was unable to take part in the match against ASM. “We will see with him tomorrow (Friday) if he can play this weekend,” the Irish coach told the Rochelle striker.
