Reuse of water from municipal swimming pools for maintenance of public spaces
published
Amid restrictions on water use, many municipal pools are preparing to empty their pools after summer. In some cities, this water is reused
Every day in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), 40,000 liters of water are needed to clean the streets. While drought and water shortages have seen the past few weeks, the municipality has decided to take this resource from the pond that must be emptied. “We will restore 6,100 cubic meters of this pool, which normally had to be emptied, as is the case every year in public spaces.”François Chollet, Toulouse Metropole Vice President for Environmental Transition announced. The result: six million liters of water restored.
But the Pink City is an exception. In Antibes (Alpes Maritimes), the main cleaning has already begun, without recycling. A situation that raises questions in a region particularly affected by restrictions. “we During the summer, we asked the government to postpone this end-of-summer discharge and resume the school year due to drought and water shortages. It sounds like common sense to me.”Eric confirms Pugetvice LR Alp Maritime. But with summer so frequent, unloading seems essential to health questions. Direct the sewers of these 8 million liters of water.
