Coffee Guest: Christophe Bley – 08/22/22
The guest for coffee on Monday, August 22, 2022 is Christophe Bley, President of the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CPME).
Small and medium-sized businesses want to get out of the current crisis, and business leaders are also on the front lines. It is becoming increasingly difficult today to be an entrepreneur, especially in terms of responsibility in relation to employees and the high prices of raw materials.
Christophe Ble, president of the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CPME), called for real support measures and aid, not just financial.
The prices of raw materials and maritime transport have witnessed a significant increase, and despite the aid, companies are not coping.
It is impossible to determine the duration of the crisis in Ukraine, which explains the concern about the rise in prices of raw materials (increase from 15% to 17%).
So we don’t know if we should take measures in the medium or long term.
CPME suggests seeking state assistance for existing companies “hit hard” Request to the Minister of Economy.
On the issue of labor law, Christophe Bley believes that it is not necessary to follow the capital model. “Before you a country, New Zealand, they almost have no labor law, so what do they do? The standard of living of New Zealanders is not that bad., he explains. French Polynesia is surrounded by English-speaking countries that do not have a labor law and which, he says, are doing well.
The head of the CPME suggests betting everything on the activity, (with the example of tourism having resumed its course) in the hope that in the long run we can better manage the crisis.
