In Hennebont, the youth space will be called Le Lokal – Hennebont
In Hennebont, it would not be necessary to say Espace jeunes but rather to say Lokal. This is the new name for equipment from 12 to 17 years old. Name validated by City Council, this Thursday, June 30.
After its installation in October 2021 in the former building of the Citizenship Service, Place Laïcité, the municipality chose to link 12-17 by choosing its name. Fourteen shows (Crazy Teens, Le Squat, Salut les jeunes, etc.) have been collected. In consultation with young people who frequent the space, the entertainment team selected four: Le Penty, Le Lokal, L’Odyssée and L’Arkade. After the poster campaign, particularly at Hennebont colleges and high schools, they were put to a vote on the city’s website and social networks from April 11 to May 9.
A clear preference for Lokal
“Young people were also able to decide what they liked when they were welcomed into the youth space.” Out of 295 votes, 55% of which were 12-17 years old, a clear preference emerged for “Le Lokal” (120 votes), ahead of L’Arkade (98 votes), then Odysée and Penty.
