In Saint-Maurice, Paris Est Marne et Bois opened its third co-working space

This is the first of its kind in the city. In Saint-Maurice (Val-de-Marne), a co-working space opened on Monday 30 May. It is located at the bottom of the building and has an area of ​​110 m2. The building has an open space with twelve seats, a meeting room and a single office that can accommodate two people.

The regional public enterprise (EPT) Paris Est Marne et Bois, comprising thirteen municipalities in Val-de-Marne, is the contracting authority for the project, for which it financed the work. After Saint-Mandé in 2019 and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in 2020, this is the third co-working space opened by local communities. It has also funded the work of a Vincennes co-working structure, which opened in 2019. But while the other three are managed by the territory, the Vincennes space is managed by an association.

break the isolation

As a regional public institution, Paris Est Marne et Bois counts economic development among its skills. The general manager of services, François Roussel-Defoe, explains that the region initially created these spaces to meet the demand from local businesses.

“There is a majority of SMEs/VSEs in the region, including many one-employee companies. Several business leaders have expressed to us the need to break this isolation,” confirms General Manager Services. Thus, region-run co-working spaces welcome “fairly diverse profiles,” start-ups or more experienced companies.

The opening of these co-working spaces also aims to create an attractive ecosystem for businesses in the region. EPT intends to create a true network of co-working spaces, without necessarily constructing buildings in each of the thirteen municipalities. “We are not here for public spending, we want a coherent network,” François Roussel-Defoe supports.

The location of the following space is already known: it will be near the station RER E Nogent – Le Perreux, in Perreux-sur-Marne. It is scheduled to open in September 2022. According to the Director General of Services, the municipal authority is also looking to Villiers-sur-Marne and Charenton-le-Pont to find places to work there.
