The former College of Naval Medicine has been enriched with space for interpretation

The goal is to “set the records straight,” asserts Charlotte Drahy, director of the Naval Museum and School of Naval Medicine. Since the founding of the city in 1666 and the establishment of the Charente Hospital in 1683, the Naval Medical School in 1722, the New Naval Hospital in 1788, and the 1890 establishment of the Naval Health Principal at Bordeaux abolishing its arsenal schools to a minor rank until the school closed in 1964.
