Stephen Richard of Orange wants a fourth term as CEO
Stéphane Richard, of Orange, said he wants a fourth term as CEO of France’s largest telecommunications company after his term expires next May. . .
Speaking to JDD, he said that recent changes to the governance of large French companies have led to the separation of the duties of the chairman and CEO, opening the door to a dual management.
“It will of course depend on Orange shareholders when the time comes,” he said, adding that he wanted to stay in the position.
“This is my wish because I am very attached to this company.”
Richard came under political pressure earlier this year after a network outage at the 23% state-owned company blocked emergency calls for several hours.
A French court will rule in October on allegations that he was involved in the disputed compensation paid by the state in 2008.
