🎥 Video: In 10 years, Andrei Chedid’s space has become an essential multicultural space
For small pleasures, poetry
If, for some, poetry is still a big word, here it is distilled in the form of small events of all kinds accessible to the curious, the uninitiated, amateurs as well as experts. Above all, it is about offering an experience of encounter (with a poet, a scientist, another way of perceiving the world), an experience of practice (poetry scenes, workshops), of participation. Placed in the spotlight, the senses are experienced through poetic amusements that are often “created” in place, a source of inspiration for directors, actors, readers and musicians. In this spirit, the space was able to present no less than 400 poetry events in 10 years (meetings, performances, writing workshops, reading aloud, peace, concerts, open theatres, competitions, promoting the works of Andre Chedid, poets). 'Residencies…) reflect the diversity of contemporary poetry and give a leading position to the practice (writing and reading aloud).
A large part is also given to discovering international poetry: Lebanon, Brazil, Greece, Quebec, Togo and Japan have been invited over the years to participate in the programming.
Embodying this spirit of adventure and experimentation, the Haiku Book Fair has been held every year since 2017 with great success. Since 2021, poets have been hosted at their residences thanks to the Ile-de-France region.
