Harness Jewels winner Enhance Your Calm will not head to Victoria for next month's Australasian Breeders Crown.
It has been reported on the stable website of his trainers, Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen, that their belief is he will benefit more from a spell at this time.
"Not a hard decision to make in the end, though it is disappointing for his owners, who live in Victoria," Purdon was quoted as saying.
"I had actually been concerned about him leading into the Jewels. Nothing major, just a toll on his system after some busy racing.
"Then he trained so well up north and raced so well in the Jewels I thought he had gotten over it.
"But there are signs the problem is back and there is no point in risking a horse of his promise."
"He is a big horse for his age and pushing on now is probably going to cause problems later"
Enhance Your Calm is unbeaten in five career starts since being purchased out of Gavin Smith's Rangiora stable unraced in March.
He easily accounted for his lone opponent in last week's Breeders Crown heat for his division at Addington.
