After an unlucky run in the Gr. 1 Surround Stakes in Sydney, Melody Belle will be aimed at the Foxbridge Plate and Tarzino Trophy.
Group One winners Embellish and Melody Belle are set to return home after luck deserted them in major assignments in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.
Embellish was badly held up en route to his eighth placing in the Gr. 1 Australian Guineas, while a wide run took its toll on Melody Belle as she finished ninth in the Gr. 1 Surround Stakes.
“They were both luckless, but that happens in racing and you’ve just got to turn the page,” co-trainer Jamie Richards told www.theinformant.co.nz.
“Nothing went Embellish’s way, which was really unfortunate, while Melody Belle was trapped three and four deep all the way.
“They’ll both head home now for a good break, and they’ll make lovely four-year-olds. We’ll be aiming Melody Belle at the Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa and the first of the Group Ones at Hawke’s Bay.”
