The countdown has begun for fantasy fans: Amazon’s new project “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will begin in early September. Our premiere photos in California, USA.

It’s been eight years since Peter Jackson’s last trip to Middle-earth, and now Amazon Prime returns to the world of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the three Hobbit films. Starting September 2, the streaming service will be showing off its new fantasy project, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The series is not a rerun of the movies. Instead, it takes place thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Amazon declares it thus: “Beginning in a time of relative peace, we follow various characters as they face the re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Mist Mountains, to the majestic forests of Lyndon and Nemenor Islands, to the farthest corners of the map, these kingdoms and characters will leave A legacy that will remain forever.”

In 2017, the American company acquired the rights to shoot the film. The first season, which will be released soon, was filmed in New Zealand. The cast occasionally includes Morvid Clarke as young Galadriel, Robert Aramayo as Elrond the Younger and Ismail Cruz Cordova as Sylvain Elbe Arundier.
