Three careless riding suspensions were handed out across yesterday’s two New Zealand thoroughbred meetings.
At Rotorua, Trudy Thornton admitted a charge of careless riding aboard Patsys Lass in the third race on the programme. Her mount shifted out near the 150-metre mark, hampering Walkin’ By.
Thornton’s four-day suspension will begin at the conclusion of racing next Saturday, and it will last until November 4.
North Island-based jockeys Jasmine Fawcett and Kate Cowan were suspended at Ashburton yesterday.
Fawcett admitted a charge of careless riding on Luvlucy in the fourth race, shifting inwards 350 metres from the finish and causing Pamir to check.
Fawcett will be suspended for eight days, from the conclusion of racing next Saturday up to and including November 8.
Cowan allowed Bully Boy to shift ground near the 100-metre mark in the ninth race, causing Richard Of Yorke to check.
Cowan was suspended from seven days, from the conclusion of racing next Saturday up to and including November 7.
