Onawing and Makoura Lodge have done some serious work at Awapuni this week, enough to warrant them respect at the Levin meeting at Awapuni on Saturday. Fast work took place on the plough (good) and on the outside of the heavy No 1 grass. Onawing (r75 2100m) and Makoura Lodge (mdn 1400m), both trained by Jeff Lynds, used the plough and were at a good clip together over 1000m in 1:5.6, the last 600m in 38.1.
