Shady Lady, preparing for the maiden highweight at Wanganui on Thursday of next week, was the only horse to work at speed at this morning’s Hastings track session. She galloped on the No.1 grass (heavy) while a few other horses worked at three-quarter pace on the plough (slushy). Shady Lady worked in from the 1200m peg on the grass, running the first 600m in an easy 45.3 before sprinting home the last 600m in 38.9.  The Nom de Jeu mare seemed to relish the wet underfoot conditions …
