Onawing did enough in training at Awapuni this morning to suggest the mare definitely holds claims for the Wellington meeting on Saturday. Fast work took place on the plough (good) and on the heavy No 1 grass. Onawing used the plough and, with stable apprentice Robert Harris aboard, began from the winning post (1400m), gathering speed to reel off a nice 1000m in 1:6.4, the last 600m in 37.6.
