The weather was fine for fast work this morning and the big trial grass was open for fast work where the going was a Dead6.  The grass was long which kept times in check. One of the best of the morning came from the Brian Court trained three-year-old and 2000 Guineas nominated Upperhand (Burnett), who galloped alone from the 800m in 48.5, cutting out the final 600m in 36.0.  Upperhand is a likely starter in Saturday’s Gr. 3 Barneswood Farm Stakes at Ashburton over 1400m.  …
