New Zealand. One company is trying a four-day week and it's working
Four days of work, three days off, and salary based on a five-day week. A system with a touch of heaven has become a reality for Perpetual Guardian employees in New Zealand, according to a report New Zealand Herald.
This credit company piloted a new scheduling management for its employees last March and April, at the request of its founder, Andrew Barnes. Its 240 employees were able to choose their schedule arrangement.
There is no decrease in productivity
The researchers noted the development of pressures experienced by the company's employees during the experiment. The new organization allowed employees to feel that they could better manage their professional and personal lives. 38% of them felt nervous, compared to 45% before the trial.
No decrease in company productivity was observed: on the contrary, employee engagement increased by 5%. They felt generally more satisfied with their work.
Reason enough to continue the four-day week? Andrew Barnes suggested this to his board.
“Organizer. Social media geek. General communicator. Bacon scholar. Proud pop culture trailblazer.”
