Group One winner Media Sensation returned to Ellerslie for an exhibition gallop between races this afternoon, warming up for her next big-race assignment in 13 days’ time.

The winner of the New Zealand 1000 Guineas in November, the I Am Invincible filly was tripped up by the Heavy10 track conditions when she tailed the field home in the Gr. 2 Eight Carat Classic on Boxing Day.

She was ridden by Michael Coleman today in an exhibition gallop with stablemate Tokyo Lil (Andrew Calder). The pair ran 1000 metres in 59.5 seconds, with Media Sensation edging away in the closing stages to shade her companion by about three-quarters of a length.

“She went well, very happy with that,” co-trainer Peter Williams told “She’ll go to the Karaka Million 3YO Classic next (on January 26).”

Owned by Sarah Green and Ger Beemsterboer’s Barneswood Farm, Media Sensation has won five of her seven starts and more than $248,000 in prize-money. She warmed up for her 1000 Guineas triumph with a Group Three victory in the Soliloquy Stakes at Ellerslie.
